Mountain Climber

TV personality, Phil Spencer, has taken an active role in a number of charity initiatives throughout his career. His biggest challenge though, the Everest In The Alps (EIA) initiative in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity, led him to the mountains of Verbier where he battled the elements to raise vital funds for the cause. Here he shares his views on how the VersaClimber helped him prepare for his second ascent in 2019.

“Somebody recommended the VersaClimber because it’s an all-over workout. So I had a go, and I can tell you, it’s an absolute nightmare. It’s a really hard bit of kit, but that’s what I needed. I needed to work out my whole body. With ski-touring – your arms, your core, your bum, your legs – everything is working and so there’s absolutely no hiding.

“I was looking for a method of training that was closely aligned to what I going to be faced with on the mountain and I genuinely believe the VersaClimber is it.

“When we’re on the mountain, it’s going to be a continuous full body workout from start to finish. In training, the VersaClimber offered me the chance to put my body to the test, as if I was already there. Best of all, you can get a massive workout on the VersaClimber in just 20-minutes. It works everything. I think it’s a fantastic bit of kit.”
